Dauterive Hospital Physical Medicine

History:

Dr. Henry Dauterive had a vision to bring high quality healthcare to the citizens of Iberia Parish and in the year 1920, he and his staff opened Dauterive Hospital in service to the people of our community. Over the years, as the community grew, so did Dauterive Hospital, growing to a 47 bed facility at its Duperier Avenue location. In 1970, Dauterive Hospital moved from Duperier Avenue to its present site at 600 North Lewis Avenue and grew to the 103 bed facility it is today. From its present facility, Dauterive Hospital provides a full spectrum of services including 24/7 Emergency Care, Cardiovascular, General Surgery, Othopaedics, Outpatient surgery, Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation, Psychiatric, Radiology, and Lab services among many others.

Over 400 combined physicians, nurses, administrators, support staff and volunteers provide care to the many thousands of patients who come to us for their care and that of their family each year.  These dedicated women and men bring their experience, education and their caring spirit to the service of our patients and our community. 

Fully accredited by the Joint Commission, Dauterive Hospital holds the highest level Quality Award given by eQ Health Solutions for the years of 2008 through 2013 for improving the quality of health care for our patients. Dauterive Hospital has also been recognized by The Joint Commission as a Top Performer on the Key Quality Measures of Heart Attack, Pneumonia and Surgical Care for three years in a row. 

Dauterive Hospital is part of the Louisiana healthcare family of Progressive Acute Care headquartered in Mandeville, Louisiana. It is joined in its care to the people of Louisiana by Avoyelles Hospital in Marksville, Louisiana, Oakdale Community Hospital in Oakdale, Louisiana, and Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, Louisiana.

From 1920 to today, Dauterive Hospital's roots are deep in our home community. We will further the vision of Dr. Henry Dauterive far into the future and continue our mission to actively embrace local businesses, organizations and individuals to help our healthcare team of physicians and support staff in developing and implementing a vision that enhances the range and level of healthcare services available to the people we serve.
