About Us:

Located in far northwest Dallas on Midway Road just south of the George Bush Turnpike, the Timberglen Branch is one of the newest additions to the Dallas Public Library system. The building is over 18,000 square feet and is located next to the Timberglen Recreation Center and features many energy saving qualities.

The kinetic sculpture On The Wind located in front of the building was designed by David B. Hickman specifically for the library. Visually, the work has imagery relative to the library in the form of two open books merging with CD's. The work also provides a shaded area for quiet reflection or reading. The sculpture acknowledges the green building concept by using wind power to provide the circular movement as well as the presentation of key words to reinforce the ideas of learning and conservation.
