Cross Florida Greenway - Land Bridge Trail

11100 SW 16th Ave.
Ocala, FL 34476

352-236-7143

Stretching from the Gulf of Mexico to the St. Johns River, the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway occupies much of the land formerly known as the Cross Florida Barge Canal. This 110-mile corridor encompasses a variety of natural habitats and offers an array of trails and recreation areas where visitors can experience Florida's premier greenway.

There are several miles of loop and side trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding and equine wagon driving in this central area of the Greenway which features America's first Land Bridge. Landscaped with native vegetation, this permanent trail connection between the east and west sections of the Greenway offers safe passage for hikers, equestrians and bicyclists across Interstate 75. Trail users can access the bridge by way of 1.5 to 2 miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails that lead out from the Land Bridge Trailhead.

This trailhead provides the quickest path to the Land Bridge and, since it includes a large equestrian parking and horse wash-down area, it is considered the best staging area for equestrians who are primarily interested in visiting the Land Bridge.
