Crookston Sports Center

The Crookston Sports Center is an 87,000 square foot example of what community pride and collaboration can do in the City of Crookston.  Located on the picturesque northeast corner of town the CSC boasts three arenas, seating for over 1200, 14 locker rooms, 8 restrooms, an 800 square foot concession area, a large community room, and 268 parking spaces and is home to the "CROOKSTON PIRATES"!

The CSC is a fine example of Crookston's commitment to energy conservation.  The City of Crookston is an active participant in the State of Minnesota B3 Benchmarking Project addressing energy efficiency in public buildings.   To reduce the environmental footprint of such a large facility the building was designed to be as green as possible.  One of many major upgrades was the use of reclaimed heat from the compressors that cool the ice.  Instead of exhausting the heat produced out of the building it is re-circulated through the duct system and heats the arena.
