Our Mission

The mission of the Crockett County Public Library is to broaden and extend the learning experiences of all people in our community. We strive to accomplish this through diverse services and resources collected in a variety of formats. The Library is devoted to informal education that allows each person to pursue their own educational, recreational and professional needs and interests, laying special emphasis on supporting students at all academic levels and stimulating young children's reading free of costs and with a minimum of institutional restriction while serving as a learning and cultural center for our community. It is within the context of changing technology and keeping pace with current events that the CCPL offers free computer access to the Internet.

The goals of the CCPL are to support and enrich public education, to increase access to information by providing an adequate facility and number of materials to serve a community the size of Ozona, and to provide services for all segments and ages of the community. We follow the American Library Association in upholding the policies of the Library Bill of Rights Freedom to Read. The same standards of intellectual freedom, privacy, and confidentiality for traditional print media shall be applied to all electronic media.
