About Us:

The Connell Branch was built using inmates from Coyote Ridge to do the labor. The attractive new building was completed in 1993. The interior oak shelving and woodwork was also done by the inmates.

The Friends of the Library created a reading courtyard in the rear of the building landscaped with trees, flowers, and a reading picnic bench. On the courtyard wall, you'll be enchanted with the "Where the Wild Things Are" mural, completed in 2001. The book won the 1964 Caldecott award. Thank you Helen Tobin for your vision. A special thank you to author, Maurice Sendak, for letting us use his art work and to Beth Ann Wood who painted the mural.
