Mission Statement:

The mission of Columbia Memorial Hospital is to provide excellence, leadership and compassion in the enhancement of health for those we serve.

Vision Statement:

We shall provide exceptional, patient-centered care and be the provider of choice of appropriate clinical services within our service area. We will grow select clinical services through partnership opportunities and remain an independent, not-for-profit, community health care organization. We will provide access to primary and specialty care, enhance our facilities, remain fiscally responsible and create the best place to work for our employees, professional staff and volunteers in a safe environment.

About Us:

At Columbia Memorial Hospital we are committed to providing compassionate health care in a healing environment and to providing leadership to improve the health of the community we serve. We are a full-service, 25-bed, critical access, not-for-profit, Level IV trauma center, Planetree Patient-Centered Care Designated hospital in northwest Oregon, where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean. We have served the people of the Lower Columbia since 1880.

Health care in Astoria, Ore., has grown substantially since the region’s first hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, opened in 1880. St. Mary’s Hospital served as the region’s only hospital until the early 1900s, when Columbia Hospital opened.
