Winemaker John Chiarito planted the vineyard as a tribute to his Southern Italian grandparents, rekindling his childhood memories of warm family gatherings every Sunday, where great food and homemade wine were a way of life. He looked to his heritage to find the vines best suited to our hot, dry summers and became the first U.S. producer of Negroamaro, a varietal from Puglia, and Nero d’Avola, the premiere grape of Sicily. The results are a decade of award-winning wines with character and verve that are true to the integrity of their Italian roots.
