History

cfasIn 2005, Christie Blushi started Cheer Factor High Performance Training Center with the original mission to be a tumbling and cheerleading facility, for athletes to build, develop and learn new skills and techniques.  Within the first year, Cheer Factor grew from 1 to 200 participants.  As cheerleaders were learning new and exciting skills, they wanted more. They wanted to showcase their skills for all to see.  With more and more interest brewing, Cheer Factor decided to start its own All-Star Program known as Cheer Factor All-Stars (CFAS).  In 2007 Cheer Factor began its first competition season, which included winning multiple National Championships and the Level 5 Team, now known as X-Factor, secured a USASF WORLDS BID in their first season and competed in Orlando, FL.  In 2009 as the gym continued to grow, Erika McLaughlin joined Christie as co-owner of Cheer Factor All Stars.  Since 2009, Christie and Erika have taken their gym to an entirely new level, building camaraderie, work ethic and sportsmanship among their athletes.  They have been able to showcase over 85 National Championship banners around the gym and their teams are competing all over New England, Atlanta, Atlantic City, Las Vegas, New York, Orlando and DC.  CFAS averages 12 full-year teams, 4-6 half year teams, Mini and Tiny Programs, and now 3 locations (Foxboro, Hanover & Taunton).  CFAS is looking forward to an amazing future!

All-star cheerleading is a competitive team sport incorporating skills from several other disciplines such as gymnastics, dance, stunting and, of course, cheer.   All-star cheerleading teams do not cheer for other sports teams.  They are the team!   All-Star cheerleading teams differ from other teams by training year-round for competitions.   All-Star also differs from most other sports in that every team member is vital to the team and to the performance.  There are no bench warmers in All-Star Cheerleading.  Everybody has an integral part and each member of the team is trained in all aspects of the sport in order to develop their skills to reach their maximum potential and ability.  With this training, CFAS cheerleaders travel throughout the Northeast and beyond, to compete for local, regional and national titles.

All Star cheerleading has taken the sport to a new level.   Adding the element of competition has allowed the world to see inside the sport in a way never before possible.   Competitions are being covered on ESPN and no one can deny any longer, that cheerleading is indeed a sport!   Athletes that participate in All-Star Cheerleading develop top physical fitness, through eye catching gymnastics, exciting stunts and crowd pleasing dance routines.
