Mission :
It is the mission of the Manchester Parks Foundation to be stewards of the environment by protecting the watershed area and our precious natural resources, by teaching environmental education to the public, by the restoring of the native plants and animals, and by maintaining a diverse natural world.
About the Charlotte's Quest Nature Center :
Charlotte's Quest Nature Center is a hidden treasure within the Town of Manchester, Maryland. Charlotte's Quest Nature Center is located adjacent to Manchester's Pine Valley Park and to Manchester Elementary School. Within Charlotte's Quest and Pine Valley Park's 60+ combined acres you will find over 4 ½ miles of trails, a stream, natural springs, a pond, pine and hardwood forests and abundant wildlife. The Manchester Parks Foundation, a non-profit organization, oversees the day-to-day-operations of the center. The functioning of the center is done through the generosity of our membership, donors and volunteers. An occasional grant aids this process. Dedicated volunteers administer most of the maintenance and the running of Charlotte's Quest's programs, activities and events with the help of the naturalist. Charlotte's Quest is under the direction of the Manchester Parks Foundation and the Town of Manchester. Charlotte's Quest Nature Center is operated by volunteers and one paid staff member, the Naturalist, and is maintained by donations, grants, memberships, and in-kind gifts. No government funding is received.
