About Us
Our family has been growing fruit since the early 1900s. We started in Washington state before moving to Missouri in 1951. Mr. Cates had an orchard along with farming field crops such as rice and corn. His youngest daughter, Janet and her husband, Kevin, took over the orchard in 1986. Since then they have shifted their focus to fruit trees and away from row cropping. They have also added a large variety of vegetables grown in their large garden and 2 high tunnels. Kevin and Janet have three children that have grown up as 4th generation family farmers.Â
Working Family Farm. Open mid-June through October. We have peaches, nectarines, plums, apricots, apples and pears in addition to apple cider, sweet corn, pecans, pumpkins, gourds and a wide variety of vegetables including tomatoes, squash and cucumbers. Our children, who are very active in 4-H and FFA, also raise Angus cows for beef that are ready to butcher each fall. Throughout the winter we crack pecans by appointment.
