Camp's Christmas Forest was established in the mid 1980's by Fred Camp in Sweetwater, Tn. His passion for tree farming began in 1973 while he worked at a local farm, Vale Forest. Camp managed Vale Forest from 1978-1989 and began "growing" his own farm on Camp Road, with trees in Huntsville, Alabama as well.
In 1990, the farm was moved to its current location at the corner of Kile Road and Lee's Church Road in Sweetwater. The first trees planted were White, Scotch, and Virginia Pine. Since then, additional evergreens were planted including Norway Spruce, White Spruce, Canaan Fir, Douglas Fir, Concolor Fir, Leyland Cypress, and Arizona Cypress.
Today, Fred and his wife Linda enjoy passing on the tree farm tradition. "This has always been a family tradition, with the children helping out, and now the grandchildren."
