Located in the historic Breuner Building in uptown Oakland, the California Genealogical Society (CGS) maintains a library and provides family history classes and workshops. The society, founded in 1898 in San Francisco, is a non-profit, all volunteer organization. Whether you have Gold Rush ancestors or have no family connection to California, you will find extensive support for your genealogy research at the California Genealogical Society and Library.
