Artist and founder Alden Bryan built the Mary Bryan Memorial Gallery in 1984 to honor the memory of his wife, artist Mary Bryan, by displaying the best of Vermont and New England painters. When Alden Bryan died in 2001, he left a living legacy in the gallery he created, as it continues to contribute to the art and culture of Vermont and New England!
In 2004, the gallery was renamed The Bryan Memorial Gallery to reflect the adminiration of the community - Board, volunteers, staff, friends and neighbors - for the contributions of this dynamic couple - Alden and Mary Bryan.
The Bryan Memorial Gallery, a non-profit institution, maintains a substantial permanent collection of paintings by Alden and Mary Bryan, and by their contemporaries who painted in this area, in addition to presenting a year long season of exhibitions by contemporary artists who paint in this area.
