Break A Leg Productions, Inc. is a tax-exempt non-profit organization (501c3, 1995) and is a member of A.R.T./New York (The Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York) and TRU (Theater Resorces Unlimited).

Our Mission

When actress Teri Black broke her leg, she couldn't even audition for The Man Who Came to Dinner. To keep her creative juices flowing, she began readings of plays in her apartment and Break A Leg Productions was born.

We believe that theatre, through the use of comedy, satire and social criticism, emphasizes what all races, cultures and people have in common. With humor and understanding theatre can bridge the gaps that separate people by enabling audiences to recognize, laugh at, and overcome the obstacles that divide them.

Break A Leg Productions encourages "non-traditional" casting.

The generosity of our patrons helps make it possible to continue the development and production of Comedies and Science Plays. We would graciously accept any contribution you could make; and if your company or organization has a Matching Gift program please let us know.
