Our Mission:

The King County Library System Foundation mobilizes resources to enrich our community through the King County Library System.

Founded in 1991, the KCLS Foundation raises private funds for outreach services and special programs not covered by the publicly funded Library System budget.

1937: A $351.93 216-square-foot library (built in just one week) opens at the corner of South 120th and Des Moines Way South

1943: Boulevard Park is one of the first libraries to join KCLS

1960s: The Wednesday Study Club plans a larger library

1971: Opening of the expanded, 6,536 square-foot library
