This trail was made fairly recently. It takes you up "The Butte," a tip of an old, small mountain in the center of the vast Matanuska/Knik Glacier drainage. The trail allows you to view Knik Glacier and it's drainage. And overlook the city of Palmer. This is a good day hike for the whole family.
