Specializing in Hunters, Jumpers and Equitation, Black Bay Equestrian was created by trainer Chris DeVere who combines over 20 years of equestrian and show experience and a lifelong passion for horses with the goal of assisting riders of all levels to achieve their goals with a foundation of good horsemanship. 

Located at Five Oak Farms near Sacramento, Black Bay Equestrian offers a full range of Jumper and Equitation training programs for those looking to compete in local SAHJA shows, B and A rated shows. We also offer professional training and work with young sport horses. All levels of horses and riders are welcome in our programs. 

Whether you are new to the Hunter/Jumper discipline or are a seasoned competitor, Black Bay Equestrian can help tailor a program to suit you and your equine partner. Lessons are personalized to each rider’s individual goals with a focus on safety and success for both horse and rider. Group and private lessons are available depending on your needs and schedule. All services are also available to clients on a trailer-in basis. 

Horses and riders will benefit from learning in a comfortable and relaxed environment that features riding trails, large turnouts, hot/cold wash racks and many other amenities. Our large custom built all weather arena allows for year round lessons and the ability to keep your horses schooled and conditioned during the off season.
