About Us:

Mike Jefferson is the owner and operator of Big Air Hang Gliding. Mike has been flying Ultralight Aircraft since he was 15 years old. In 2003 Mike was the lead instructor for Mission Soaring Center in Milpitas. Mike worked for Pat Denavan for 4 years, before deciding to move on. Mike started Bay Area Hang Gliding in 2007 which quickly grew to be the most popular place to learn hang gliding in the San Francisco bay area. This awesome school is now operated by Mike's good friend Eric. To this day, Bay Area Hang Gliding and Big Air Hang Gliding retain the highest Yelp reviews with perfect 5 star ratings. In 2009 Mike appeared on the popular television show MythBusters on Discovery Channel. Mike took the entire year of 2011 off to learn new cutting edge teaching technologies and incorporate them into his lesson plans.
