Mission

Project Angel Tree

Through the Salvation Army, Bethel provides more than 75 Christmas gifts to needy children in the local area.

Hunger Emphasis

Various efforts throughout the year include: Souper Bowl Sunday for Meals on Wheels, November hunger calendar, and Scouting for food.

Third World Missions

We support the orphanage in Old Mutare, Zimbabwe with special emphasis at Christmas and Easter.

Homeless Shelter

An ongoing collection of toiletries is taken to the homeless shelter in our area.

Lower Burrell Community

We provide meeting space for several community groups including Overeater's Anonymous and several Scout groups.

Medical Equipment Collection

As a partner with Global Links who distributes good, used medical equipment around the world, we are a summer collection point for walkers, crutches, canes, braces, sealed bandages and other usable medical goods.

School Ministry

A special fund purchases shoes and/or clothing for needy children in the Burrell School District.

Lenten collections

Each year during Lent the Missions Committee sponsors a collection of items to make health, school, or cleaning kits for the United Methodist Committee on Relief.

The World Vision Sweater Project

Our knitters and crocheters have put their talents to use making children's sweaters for distribution around the world. This annual event is anticipated by both our guests and our members. This is what Christmas is all about!

Throughout the year, the Mission/ Outreach committee coordinates projects that reach out to the local area as well as to our global community.
