About Us

The Bergenfield Museum Society invites all to the Bergenfield Museum, located in the historic Cooper House at Cooper Pond.

The Museum hosts permanent exhibits reflecting important aspects of Bergenfield history such as the Cooper Chair Factory, the Armed Forces, the Police, Fire, and Public Works services, Bergenfield High School memorabilia, street scenes from yesteryear, among others. Additionally, the Museum displays special exhibits that provide a look back at specific topics such as the Bergenfield schooling system (1891 - present) and the Washington Ave commercial district. There are Open Houses and other special events throughout the year.

Come visit and walk through the rooms filled with amazing memorabilia about Bergenfield from its beginning stages. Perhaps you will find a photo of your neighborhood, your house, or even your relatives. For sure, you will be reminded of the “good ol’ days”.  After your visit to the Museum, you might enjoy a pleasant walk around Cooper Pond. Just watch out for the geese, ducks, and deer--yes--you might even see deer roaming on the property.
