About Us:
Belvedere Plantation is a 645 acre heritage farm, built in the 1760s on the historic Rappahannock River near Fredericksburg, Virginia. It is now a working farm, with grain crops such as corn, wheat and soybeans – and who can forget the pumpkins!
Built by Colonel William Dangerfield about 1770, this was a working plantation on the Rappahannock River that grew primarily wheat. Originally, in addition to the main house, there were cabins for slaves, a little school house, and a separate kitchen building.
An avenue of trees lead from the highway to the old home.
The Plantation home itself, a two-story Colonial style brick structure with stone porch and large while columns, is not open to the public.
