Belmont Gallery Of Art

19 Moore Street,3rd floor
Belmont, MA 02478

The Belmont Cultural Council recognizes that an essential benefit of the arts is to strengthen community and broaden horizons. We are establishing a permanent Gallery in the renovated Town Hall Annex which will be welcoming to all. The town Gallery will showcase and encourage excellence in the visual arts within our community, and provide a place where people of diverse interests can gather for a stimulating exchange of ideas

The Belmont Gallery of Art exhibits artistic works in a variety of two and three-dimensional media, including paintings, photographs, graphics, fabric art, collages and sculpture. Exhibits are on an ongoing basis, changing approximately every 8 weeks. The Gallery Administrator, Nan Rogers, runs the Gallery on a day to day basis, working with a small committee to produce and manage the shows. A Curatorial Committee meet several times during the year to jury artwork submitted by local and regional artists, and to ensure works exhibited are of high quality and appropriate for a general audience. While the BCC maintains overall accountability, it is not involved on a day-to-day basis. All persons involved with the Gallery work on a volunteer basis. No town funds are used in the operation of the Gallery which is self supporting through tax-deductible contributions and commissions from the sale of the artwork.
