History
Beep Beep began on accident really. Steven Rauber and James McConnell, two lifelong Atlanta residents, had been living in their house in Oakhurst for six months, and still their walls were completely bare. So, during a party one New Year s Eve the two nailed up some of local artist Mike Germon s work to decorate. Several other friends and acquaintances expressed interest in hanging some art at the house, and with the help of their good friend Mark Basehore, the two organized their first show. The event went better than expected, and after a variety of group shows at the Oakhurst house, the three friends started dreaming about having a real gallery space. When they heard about one such space opening up in Midtown, the three men jumped at the chance to make Beep Beep more than just an accident.
Beep Beep Gallery maintains its focus on presenting emerging artists whose potential far outweighs their notoriety, giving them support and exposure for their work. Apart from showing art, Beep Beep also offers a number of locally made crafts and zines, as well as used books, vinyl, and more.
