About Us:

Baybreeze Farm is owned and operated by Sarah Winward. Sarah has been involved with horses for over 15 years. She began riding at the age of 7, when she recieved her first riding lesson for her birthday. She has been hooked ever since! Throughout her childhood, Sarah participated in many clinics, shows, and other events, and has won numerous awards throughout the local show circuit.  Sarah knew she wanted to pursue a career with horses and with her focus on that, she opened the farm to the public offering boarding and riding instruction.  She is a graduate of Virginia Intermont College with a bachelors degree in Equine Studies. While at Virginia Intermont, Sarah was a member of the nationally ranked IHSA team. She also became familiar with the nutrition of the horse as well as farrier science, anatomy and physiology, health and breeding, and much more. Sarah has had the opportunity to work under several professional trainers in the industry such as Jan Simpson, Eric Dirks, and Kip Rosenthal to name a few. Sarah also takes lessons frequently as well as attends clinics and workshops to stay familiar with new techniques and training methods. She is certified in hunt seat and stable management through the American Riding Instructors Association
