Batavia Farmers' Market

North River Street
Batavia, IL 60510

Mission/Purpose:

The Batavia Farmers’ Market is a Batavia MainStreet program. Batavia MainStreet is a not-for-profit, community-based organization devoted to enhancing our downtown as the heart of the community through dedicated volunteer efforts. The mission of the Batavia Farmers’ Market, and its sponsor Batavia MainStreet, is to enrich our small-town community values, stimulate our local economy at a grassroots level, and educate residents and those in our extended community of the value of wholesome, hand-crafted and nutritionally valuable food. Additionally, our interest is to support locally produced non-food products including but not limited to plants, fiber, and products derived of animal products (i.e. soaps, textiles, etc.). Our goal encompasses the notion of creating a community-driven social destination as an educational, recreational and healthy resource. The purpose of the Batavia Farmers’ Market is to provide a retail outlet for local producers; fresh, local products for consumers; and a gathering place that encourages a sense of community. This farm market features produce, baked goods, artisan products, plants, honey and related farm products. Our vendors grow, harvest and/or produce up to 75% of market products.
