Our Mission

The Avera McKennan Fitness Center strives to improve the health and fitness of the community by providing the highest quality facilities, professional staff, and programs in a unique, supportive environment.

Our History

Avera McKennan Fitness Center opened in December of 1997. However, the vision for its fulfillment was sketched and nurtured by Avera McKennan Hospital administration, board, and staff over many years prior. The primary purpose for this 57,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility and its 135 team members is to provide the highest quality medically based adult health and fitness environment to our community.
