About Us:

Arsenal park was purchased by the city in 1928 for $19,915. A petition bearing one thousand signatures prompted its purchase. Early development of the park was done through Depression-era jobs programs such as the W.P.A.  A spray pool was built in 1935 and a brick shelter house/comfort station (both are no longer standing) was built in 1941-42. Arsenal Park was named for its location on Arsenal Avenue, although Arsenal Avenue is now called Indianaola Avenue. In the past the park has also been known as Haverford Park because it is also located on Haverford Avenue.

This 12.32 acre park has some of the most beautiful trees in the city.  The manicured lawns provide families with an ideal location for fun and relaxation.
