Activities
Chaffee County is 82% Public Land and Antero Hot Springs sits within the San Isabel National Forest, which creates a recreational playground right in the backyard. The Arkansas River is 10 minutes down Chalk Creek where the fishing and boating are world class. Fishing, whitewater rafting & kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, snowmobiling and mountaineering are just some of the adventures that await the ambitious vacationer. The legendary Colorado Trail and the Continental Divide Trail are just up the road.
The Sawatch Range that surrounds the cabins is home to alpine lakes, 14ers and miles of scenic trails. The snowmobile trails are endless and well maintained for motorheads or ski touring. Princeton Riding Stables is located just down the road for an exceptional trail ride through local terrain.
If you head west 12 miles from the cabins you’ll find St Elmo, where you can stroll the old boardwalks of this once-booming mining town. A historic Ghost Town, St. Elmo is where 4-wheel drive roads pinwheel in every direction for hiking or jeep adventures.
Salida, Buena Vista & Leadville are only a short drive away and boast art galleries, restaurants, antique shops and museums. Of course, massage and spa treatment along with soaking in the mineral hot spring may be all you need to feel thrilled and exhilarated. We have an excellent therapist available.
After taking in some of these activities, coming ‘home’ to Antero Hot Springs for a soak in your private hot spring pool is a dream come true.
