About Us:

We are a small family owned and operated vineyard and winery.  When founder Fred Oliai first laid eyes on the 90+ acre ALTA Vineyard in 2008, he instantly recognized the magic and the amazing potential of the site.

We maintain a deep respect for the land at ALTA Vineyard, tilling the soil as little as possible and restricting the use of chemicals and fertilizers. Intense hand farming, gentle fermentation and old world cellar practices all combine to yield exceptional results. Alta barreled its first harvest of Cabernet Sauvignon in 2009 and sold a very limited amount of its debut wine when it was released in the Fall of 2011.

Since then, we have tirelessly looked for vineyard locations that best suit the varietal.  All of our wines are sourced from single vineyards.  Our Sauvignon Blanc grapes are sourced from the Heitz Vineyard in the eastern hills of the Napa Valley. The Chardonnay grapes are sourced from Beard Vineyard in Yountville.  Linda Beard and her family have owned this property for five generations and they pay meticulous attention to farming details.  The latest addition to the Alta portfolio is our Pinot Noir offering.  The grapes for this wine are sourced from a truly exceptional property in the southwestern part of the Russian River Valley.  Roughly four miles east of the famed Martinelli Winery off of Occidental Road in Santa Rosa is Jim and Cindy Moore's boutique Pinot Noir Vineyard.
