About

Allison Oaks Vineyards is a small family owned vineyard located in Yadkinville, North Carolina, squarely in the heart of the fertile Yadkin Valley appellation region and North Carolina's first federally-recognized American Viticulture Area (AVA). Founded in 1997 by Pam and Gene Renegar, on a former grass-runway airstrip, Allison Oaks Vineyards has been committed to growing exceptional grapes that exhibit an uncommon quality and unique character that can only be found in this pristine area of North Carolina.
Through hard work and devotion to their unique property the Renegar's have been on the forefront of an explosion of viticulture in North Carolina. With near perfect geologic and climatic features for grape growing, this area of North Carolina is commonly being referred to as the "Napa Valley of the east" as North Carolina currently ranks 12th in wine production and 10th in grape growing in the United States.
After acquiring their property, they decided to formally establish a vineyard. Relying on their tobacco farming background, they planted their first grape vines in 2000. From this humble beginning their vineyard has now grown to 6 acres of viniferous grapes, with several varieties including Merlot, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Viognier, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc.
In July of 2008, a quaint old building nestled in downtown Yadkinville was purchased and converted into a tasting room and a banquet facility. The old, original hardwood floors, antiques and local artwork give visitors a welcoming and relaxing feeling of a more simpler time. Downtown neighbors of Allison Oaks include the Yadkin Cultural Arts Center and Miss Emily Antiques.
