Albany Center Galleries mission is to exhibit the work of skillful contemporary artist of the Mohawk-Hudson Region and to build a strong and knowledgeable visual art audience.
Albany Center Galleries is a non-profit art space dedicated to exhibiting skillful contemporary art of the Mohawk Hudson region, and building a strong, knowledgeable audience for the visual arts. We are a community-based and commumry supported organization. (Albany Center Galleries is supported by city, state corporate and foundation funds, as well as fundraisers, individual donations and memberships.)
Since Leslie Urbach opened the gallery's doors in 1977, over 700 of the finest contemporary artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region have exhibited here. Disciplines include painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, fiber arts, video, mixed media and installation. Currently housed in the Albany Public Library, the gallery hosts 7 on-site exhibitions annually as well as numerous public presentations of regional contemporary art
