Our Vision:

YWCA Alaska believes that women military veterans have unique perspectives and experiences relating to their military service. The program vision is to support women veterans through advocacy, collaboration, and empowerment to encourage connection with each other and their communities. Through acknowledging and honoring Alaska women veterans' experiences and achievements, we can support and affirm the contributions of all veterans in our society.

Our Purpose:

A.V.O.W. is dedicated to connecting Alaska's women veterans to each other and their communities, to honor their service and achievements, and to empower women veterans to reach their highest potential as women and as veterans.

What We Do:

    Advocate for policies and programs that improve the lives of Alaska women veterans and our families
    Conduct outreach through media sources to connect Alaska women veterans to one another and their communities
    Sponsor retreats and individual & group support activities to enhance their lives
    Collaborate with existing veterans' organizations to advocate for women veterans' issues and concerns
    Educate the public about the issues facing Alaska's women veterans
