The Alabama Hall of Fame was established on September 4, 1951. The nine member board considered for election to the Alabama Hall of Fame worthy citizens of the state who rendered outstanding service or who won fame on account of their achievements as to make them exceptional in the history of Alabama. (HJR110, Act No. 646, 1951; revised by Act No. 78, 1961; and sunsetted in 1990.)
