Millions of consumers are victims of identity fraud and identity theft every year. The impact on victims and their families can be financially and emotionally devastating, especially for older Americans.

AARP created the Fraud Watch Network to empower consumers to spot and avoid scams, and to provide support and guidance to victims and their families when fraud happens.  In addition to attending sessions like this today, you can find a wealth of resources at aarp.org/fraudwatchnetwork.

Since we all spend more time shopping online and cruising the web, we all need to be more vigilant than ever. Please join AARP NH on September 15 at 11 am for a free, 45-minute Identity Protection webinar, presented by the AARP NH Speakers Bureau.

The internet is a goldmine for scam artists and the number of people who get caught in the scammer’s net grows every year. The true volume and scope of cyber crime is unknown. What is known is that criminals continue to use a variety of scams to defraud Internet users, ranging from simple frauds to complex hacking.

You’ll leave this session armed with four important steps you can take to protect yourself.

This webinar is free, but registration is required here: https://aarp.cvent.com/ProtectYourIdentity
