You can still catch Frank Abagnale

Posted on 09/15/19 by Sarana Schell

If you missed Frank Abagnale when he was here, you can still get his recommendations on how to limit your risk of fraud.
AARP Alaska brought Abagnale, the teenage con man and pilot impersonator who inspired the movie "Catch Me If You Can” (starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Abagnale and Tom Hanks as the FBI agent chasing him) to Alaska, Sept. 19, 2019. In addition to an in-person presentation in Anchorage, he also held a statewide phone discussion the same day, which we recorded.
You can listen to his valuable tips and insights at https://vekeo.com/event/aarpalaska-4763/.
An FBI consultant for 40 years, Abagnale is also a fraud prevention ambassador for AARP's Fraud Watch Network, and AARP Alaska hosted his visit as a public service for Alaskans. Abagnale's tips for outsmarting scammers are invaluable, as fraud continues to increase: the Federal Trade Commission registered $1.48 billion (with a “b”) in consumer losses last year, up 38% from 2017.
