AARP Alaska is hosting a webinar series for Veterans!

What can Veteran Service Organizations do for me? How do Tricare and Medicare work if I am eligible for both? What programs does the VA provide for veterans who wish to stay in their own home? I am a family caregiver of a veteran; how can the VA help support me? What assisted living homes and nursing homes does the VA help pay for?

What programs does the VA provide for veterans who wish to stay in their own home? - August 10, 2021 from 10AM to 11AM
Veterans must apply to receive VA health care. For more information on VA eligibility and for assistance with the application process visit www.va.gov. AARP Alaska is pleased to welcome Nicki Addonisio, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and the Long-Term Care Coordinator for the Alaska VA Healthcare System to help you understand the types of long term care services available for enrolled Alaska Veterans. What can Veteran Service Organizations do for me? -  August 18, 2021 from 12PM to 1PM
When you need assistance in getting the benefits you or a family member is due as a veteran or an eligible dependent you should utilize the assistance of a Veterans Service Officer (VSO). You may think that VSOs are only the usual organizations like the American Legion or VFW, but all states, and many counties and local municipalities have VSOs as well. These VSOs all have your best interest in mind and exist to help you get the benefits you deserve. Watch it here.

Are you a Veteran who is nearing age 65? If so, you may have some questions about Medicare, Tricare, and IHS. AARP Alaska is pleased to be joined by Medicare experts who understand these important programs and how they can impact your healthcare. Watch it here.
