The walk will take place at St. Vincent Hospital inside the atrium. For the summer, the walks will be outdoors. When warmer weather arrives will take a walk in Worcester's Elm Park. You will be notified before the walk if things change
Why Walk? Walking is one of the single most important things we can do for our health - it’s good for your heart, brain, bones, lungs, muscles, joints, and even helps prevent cancer and other chronic diseases. See 100 reasons to walk at walkwithadoc.org/why-walk.
Each "Walk with a Doc" is the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Our first walk was on January 7th at St Vincent Hospital. We started out with a brief chat with Dr. Waldo Zamor. He talked about the physical and mental help a good walk can provide. Then, we circled the atrium at St Vincent's enjoying a healthy walk at our own pace. Many people got to talk with Dr. Zamor and ask some basic, general health questions. It was a great time.
Here is a list of the upcoming monthly walks in 2023- click the date to register for it.
More About Walk With A Doc:
Walk with a Doc is an international nonprofit organization started by Dr. David Sabgir, a cardiologist in Columbus Ohio. In 2005, Dr. Sabgir invited 100 patients and community members to go for a walk with him in a local park. Since that successful day, the movement has spread around the globe and now hundreds of communities are enjoying the countless benefits of walking with their healthcare providers on an ongoing basis.
