Volunteers Needed: Many Ways to Serve

Volunteer in Milwaukee County

AARP members are helping fellow residents through organization-run projects or by serving on boards and commissions that address needs of the 50-plus population.

AARP Tennessee encourages people to volunteer for a variety of programs, ranging from fairs and AARP’s Movies for Grownups to advocacy initiatives that focus on caregivers or veterans.

The state office has also made it a priority for its volunteers to participate on state and local boards, including the state Commission on Aging and Disability, giving an important voice to Tennessee’s older residents.

“We often do not see the faces and voices of people over 50 around tables of influence, and we are trying to change that,” said Rebecca Kelly, AARP Tennessee state director.
