NEW Tea & Coffee Tuesdays: Tuesday, May 11 at 9 am
AARP California is launching Tea & Coffee Tuesdays, a monthly virtual conversation with guest speakers every second Tuesday of the month at 9 am via ZOOM. Our inaugural event kicks off on Tuesday, May 11 at 9 am with AARP California State President Joe Garbanzos, who will share his volunteer journey, passion for age-friendly communities and his goals as state president. HomeFit Workshop: Tuesday, May 18 at 12 pm
Make your home a safe place to age. Join AARP Los Angeles for a virtual HomeFit workshop. The FREE workshop will provide participants with tips, strategies, and product reviews to ensure homes are accessible as people age. Click HERE to register or call 1-877-926-8300.
LGBT Prepare to Care Workshop: Friday, May 21 at 12 pm
Join us for a FREE LGBT Prepare to Care workshop on Friday, May 21 from 12 – 1 pm. The workshop will provide LGBT caregivers and allies a framework to actively prepare for the care their loved ones may need. LA Soul Steppers: Tuesday, May 25 at 6 am
Keep your body and mind active! Join the Los Angeles Soul Steppers for an hour of physical activity from the comfort of your own home. Coach Erich Nall will guide you through stretching and stepping techniques. Soul Steppers meet every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6 a.m. Learn more and register HERE. Older Adult Transportation Expo with Metro, Wednesday, May 26 at 9 am
Interested in learning about the benefits of taking public transportation? Join AARP California and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) for the 5th Annual Older Adult Transportation Expo on Wednesday, May 26 from 9:00 am – 11:30 am via Zoom.* Participants will receive a sneak peek of Metro’s latest projects and will learn more about the On the Move Riders Program, which inspires older adults to learn how to take public transit to destinations across the county.
