AARP Los Angeles is staying connected with you through virtual events. Here’s what we have lined up for March!

Local Virtual Events

LA Soul Steppers: Tuesday, March 9th and 23rd at 6 a.m. Keep your body and mind active! Join the Los Angeles Soul Steppers for an hour of physical activity from the comfort of your own home. Coach Erich Nall will guide you through stretching and stepping techniques.  Soul Steppers meet every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6 a.m. Learn more and register HERE. This virtual event is free and open to the public.

Webinar Wednesday: Boys of Summer – A Caregiving Journey: Wednesday, March 10th at 12:30 p.m. Join us for a Facebook and YouTube LIVE conversation with Robert Cochrane, award-winning filmmaker of the Boys of Summer documentary series and two Stephen King-based short films. We’ll talk with Robert about his film series Boys of Summer, which chronicles his journey spending time with his father who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and how he used the power of baseball to connect with his dad. This virtual event is free and open to the public.

Screening of Sky Blossom Film: Thursday, March 18 at 7 p.m. Pick the comfiest spot in your home and join us for a live virtual screening of Sky Blossom. The film takes and a raw, candid look at the 24.5 million teens and twenty-somethings caring for a veteran parent or grandparent. This special virtual screening will be followed by a live discussion on caregiving with a family and veterans service representatives. Learn more and register HERE.

Six Pillars of Brain Health Workshop: Friday, March 19th @ Noon Join us for a Six Pillars of Brain Health workshop to discover how living an active life – by learning more, being social, staying fit, eating right, sleeping better, and managing stress – is our best bet for maintaining our brain health. Share your brain-boosting tips and be inspired by others. This session is a good overview for anyone interested in improving their brain health and will provide you with actionable steps you can take. Learn more and register HERE. This virtual event is free and open to the public.
