Town Hall for Veterans and Families

AARP Mississippi is committed to aiding veterans in the transition from the military to civilian life and seeks to be a source of help and information for vets and their families.

The state office will hold a Veterans Town Hall on Friday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Biloxi Civic Center, 578 Howard Ave., to hear from veterans and to provide information.

The town hall will cover topics such as veterans benefits, caregiving, financial security and fraud prevention. A representative of the Department of Veterans Affairs wll be present.

Mississippi is home to 191,411 veterans, many of whom are 65 or older. Nearly 1 in 5 Mississippi vets have a service-related disability rating. Get additional details at aarp.org/ms.
