Frontline Pop-Up Vaccine Workers Recognized for Service at Shiloh Baptist Church

LEXINGTON, Ky.– Lexington AARP volunteers are teaming up to deliver a healthy lunch thanking frontline Lexington residents impacted during the Coronavirus pandemic.



Who:          University of Kentucky Pop-up Clinic staff with Shiloh Baptist Business Manager (Charles Edwards) and AARP Volunteers (Rev. Jim Thurman).
What:        Special Lunch Break celebration with Lexington frontline Pop-Up vaccine site at Shiloh Baptist Church.
Where:      Shiloh Baptist Church 237 E. Fifth Street      Lexington        40508
(In lower Sanctuary area separated from active vaccination site in main dining hall.)
When:        Saturday, April 3 – Lunch distribution begins at 11:00 a.m. - Noon

Why:          Frontline workers are on duty for 6 to 8 hour shifts at Shiloh Baptist Church providing COVID-19 vaccinations to thousands in underserved populations. Local AARP volunteers are showing their support and thanks by providing a free healthy lunch break.

AARP has been working to promote the health and well-being of older Americans for more than sixty years. In the face of coronavirus crisis, AARP volunteers in Lexington are responding with show of support to these frontline workers.
