A 90-minute introduction to the art of writing what you know, instruction in how to shape a memoir story pitch using the unique Memoir Project Algorithm, and a Q&A session.

Meet the Instructor - Marion Roach Smith

Marion Roach Smith is a distinguished memoir coach, teacher, editor, and author who began her career at The New York Times, where she honed her signature principles of precision and brevity. These principles now guide her work as the founder of The Memoir Project, a comprehensive resource for memoir writing. She offers a robust curriculum of online classes covering everything from entry-level memoir writing to advanced topics such as book structure, personal essays, opinion pieces, digital commentary, and full-length memoirs.
Marion is the author of several books, including The Memoir Project: A Thoroughly Non-Standardized Text on Writing & Life (Grand Central Publishing), a guide to mastering the art of memoir.
