Meet AARP at the Park…with a Walk with a Doc: Education Series!

Are you over the age of 50 and ready for some self-care? AARP Long Island presents: Walk with a Doc this spring and fall in collaboration with the Long Island Health Collaborative. During these walks, we aim to provide tips on health, lifestyles, and more. It will help spreads awareness of the things people can do to prevent and improve physical activity that will benefit both your physical and mental well-being!

Join the Long Island Health Collaborative for Walk with a Doc, a free community walking event sponsored by AARP Long Island! Physicians will briefly discuss their specialties and the many health benefits of walking before we take a stroll! Attendees can walk and talk with the doc!

Physician: Dr. Anupama Paranandi, Preventive Medicine Resident, Stony Brook Medicine

Dr. Anupama Paranandi of Stony Brook Medicine will discuss how we can prevent and manage chronic diseases as we age. Adesuwa Watson, Director of Suffolk County DOH’s Office of Minority Health will share insight into the OMH’s efforts to align with the Long Island Sound Study to improve equity in the region and access to the Long Island Sound for all. Jimena Perez-Viscasillas, Long Island Sound Study Outreach Coordinator will speak about the New York Sea Grant, the Long Island Sound Study/Long Island Sound Estuary Program, and environmental health.
