Tackling High Drug Prices Tops Agenda

Posted on 11/30/19 by The AARP Bulletin

Reining in the high cost of prescription drugs will be a top priority for AARP Utah and its allies when state lawmakers reconvene on Monday, Jan. 27.

Many Utahns are torn between paying for housing and purchasing medications, with high drug costs disproportionately affecting older adults. Building on support that emerged in the last legislative session, AARP Utah is working with lawmakers to explore options that include importing some medications from Canada at a lower price and requiring more transparency about drug price hikes.
