Susan Jones: AARP Virginia 2024 Rookie of the Year
Susan Jones of Ashburn is an exemplary AARP volunteer, showcasing remarkable dedication and initiative in her role. Despite being relatively new to the organization herself, she has already taken on mentoring responsibilities for other new volunteers, demonstrating her commitment to fostering a supportive community within AARP.
Jones’ efforts extend beyond mere participation; she actively engages in networking and event organization to raise awareness of AARP's initiatives. Through her collaboration with various local organizations such as the Loudoun County Area Agency on Aging and the Parkinson's Foundation, she has amplified the impact of AARP's outreach efforts. By co-sponsoring events like the Life@50+ Academy and working with other community groups, she has created valuable opportunities for volunteers to get involved and make a difference.
