Susan Jones of Ashburn is an exemplary AARP volunteer, showcasing remarkable dedication and initiative in her role. Despite being relatively new to the organization herself, she has already taken on mentoring responsibilities for other new volunteers, demonstrating her commitment to fostering a supportive community within AARP.

Jones’ efforts extend beyond mere participation; she actively engages in networking and event organization to raise awareness of AARP's initiatives. Through her collaboration with various local organizations such as the Loudoun County Area Agency on Aging and the Parkinson's Foundation, she has amplified the impact of AARP's outreach efforts. By co-sponsoring events like the Life@50+ Academy and working with other community groups, she has created valuable opportunities for volunteers to get involved and make a difference.

Jones’ communication and organizational skills are invaluable assets to the AARP team, ensuring that volunteers stay informed and engaged in ongoing activities. Her passion for community service is evident not only through her work with AARP but also in her involvement with other organizations like Loudoun County Fire and Rescue and Global Camps Africa.

Starting as a community ambassador, Jones’ leadership within AARP has quickly grown, as she now co-leads the Loudoun/West Fairfax Community Action Team. Her dedication, compassion, and ability to mobilize others make her an outstanding asset to both AARP and the broader community.
