Stop the Scammers: Fraud Presentations Available

Posted on 07/01/23 by The AARP Bulletin

AARP Maine’s Speakers Bureau volunteers are available to give in-person and virtual talks on fraud prevention to community groups around the Pine Tree State.

The free fraud-watch sessions are aimed at helping people spot scams and learn tips to protect themselves. Topics include identity-theft prevention, cybersecurity, impostor scams and romance scams.

Presentations are typically 45 minutes and include a brief Q&A session and resource materials. AARP frequently collaborates with libraries, senior centers, veterans groups and multicultural organizations.

If you’d like to request a speaker for your meeting, visit states.aarp.org/maine/scam-prevention-speakers, or email me@aarp.org. To learn more about becoming a volunteer, you can email me@aarp.org.
