Special Election: Philadelphia – 195th House Legislative District

After being appointed CEO of Project HOME, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing aid to people experiencing homelessness, Donna Bullock resigned her seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives effective July 16, 2024.

House Speaker Joanna McClinton scheduled a Special Election for Tuesday, September 17, 2024 to fill the remainder of Bullock’s term.

AARP Pennsylvania is dedicated to ensuring that Philadelphia residents of the 195^th House Legislative District know how to register to vote, where to vote in person, what the rules are for mail-in, absentee or early voting, and key dates for voting.

What are the key dates regarding the September 17, 2024 Special Election?

• Last day to register to vote: Tuesday, September 3, 2024
• Last day to apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot: Tuesday, September 10, 2024
• Last day for the County Board of Elections to receive voted mail-in or absentee ballots: Tuesday, September 17 – must be received by 8:00 P.M. to be counted
• Special Election Day for the 195^th District House Seat: Tuesday, September 17, 2024 – polls are open from 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.
