Smart Driver Courses Still Available Online

Posted on 05/31/21 by The AARP Bulletin

Keeping current with safe-driving techniques can save lives and lower your car insurance bill. AARP South Carolina wants motorists to know that the popular AARP Smart Driver course, designed for people 50 and older, is available online.

The virtual version allows participants 60 days to complete the course on safe-driving strategies. Under state law, drivers 26 and older who successfully complete the course get a discount on their insurance rate for three years.

The topics covered are the effects of medication on driving, how to reduce distractions, proper use of new technology and how to adjust driving techniques to accommodate age-related physical changes.
